Adriana’s research is focused on the role of emotions within transformative education and hopes to see them further acknowledged and supported within DIT, the university, and transformative education as a whole.

Intern

Adriana Mockovčáková is an educational psychology master student at the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences. While working at DIT, they will be conducting research on the role of affect within transformative learning, as well as experimenting with reflective tools in and around DIT.

With a background in psychology, Adriana feels the educational system greatly lacks sufficient acknowledgment of the emotional learning journey. Everyone discovering the complexity of wicked problems and the depth of the needed change requires the support and tools to approach them effectively. Through working at DIT, Adriana hopes to support education in becoming more transformative and regenerative: fostering feelings of resiliency, agency, and empowerment. In their free time, Adriana is involved with supporting the wellbeing of fellow Extinction Rebellion activists, expressing creativity through movement and music, but their favorite activity, however, are regular cuddle therapy sessions with friends and family.
