Current facets (Pre-Master)

Would you like to refresh your speaking or writing skills? The Language & Training Centre (LTC) has developed refresher sessions, consider them workshops, specifically aimed at employees of Erasmus University Rotterdam. These sessions either focus on speaking or writing skills and take 2,5 hours.

Which levels are offered?

Refresh your speaking skills B2

Expand your vocabulary, develop discussion skills or reach an agreement. Is it time to refresh your speaking skills? If you participate regularly in meetings, discussions, and negotiations or if you need to explain systems or engage in small talk, this could be a course for you. For those who want to discuss specific issues, participants can submit topics beforehand, allowing everyone to be fully prepared. If you want general speaking practice, the trainer will supply topics to discuss. Reactivate your vocabulary, develop your fluency and gain confidence in speaking! 

  • To be admitted to this workshop your current level of oral skills need to be at B2. As proof of this entrance level we accept: a certificate of the speaking skills for staff B2 course or a B2 speaking result of an English assessment from the LTC.

Refresh your writing skills B2

Practise writing a document or email that you might need to send to a group of people, either within or outside the university. You will have the opportunity to revise some useful techniques for writing for your work and remind yourself of the style, tone and practice of good, professional business writing. You will work on a document in the workshop with your fellow participants and receive feedback from the teacher along with some helpful tips and suggestions for your personal development. As this will be an interactive session, there will also be a vocabulary building game, so bring along an article that you have read and liked with words and phrases you have highlighted and would like to share.

  • To be admitted to this workshop your current level of written skills need to be at B2. As proof of this entrance level we accept: a certificate of the writing skills for staff B2 course or a B2 writing result of an English assessment from the LTC.
