Engels - Language & Training Centre (2017)

Learning a new language will open new worlds

Do you need to learn English for your future career? Are you going to study or do an internship in an English-speaking country? Or would you simply like to make yourself understood during your next trip? The Language & Training Centre (LTC) will help you get there! Please take a look at our full range of English for participants with an academic background (hbo/university).

For students and participation for Academic Purposes courses

An English intake is intended for anyone wishing to take part in an English for Academic purpose course in the evening. By taking this test we can determine which English course fits you best (level B2.1, B2.2, C1.1). Our intake is completely online and consists of an oral test of 10 minutes and a written test of 40 minutes. An intake costs €55,- and the course advice is valid for one year. The result, an email, can only be used for course registration. If you need an official level statement (for example for your master application at EUR), then you need to do an English assessment.

Registration is closed. Stay updated on new dates.

An English language assessment is an elaborate assessment of all the language skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking. Armed with this assessment you can confirm your language proficiency level (for example for admission to a Master taught in English). When all results have been processed, you will receive a statement which states your proficiency in speaking and writing.

Please note: If you would like to participate in a course and only wish to know which level you can enter, an elaborate assessment is not necessary. In that case doing an English intake is sufficient.

Registration deadline is 4 November

An English assessment determines your language proficiency. After taking the assessment, you will receive a level statement that contains information about your current level of English. A distinction between oral and written skills is made. The results of this assessment can be used to obtain the University Teaching Qualification (BKO) or to prove your English proficiency for the dual language policy (Support staff).

Registration deadline is 24 November

If you want to know whether your (future) employee is sufficiently familiar with the English language to function adequately, then a language assessment might be a solution. After the assessment, you will receive a short report in which the results of the tests are described, as well as possible improvements.
