Learning a new language will open new worlds
Do you need to learn English for your future career? Are you going to study or do an internship in an English speaking country? Or would you simply like to make yourself understood during your next trip? The Language & Training Centre (LTC) will help you get there! Please take a look at our full range of English for participants with an academic background (hbo/university):
An English intake is for students only. This intake can be used to determine your language proficiency, to register for the adequate English course or to know whether you meet the language requirements needed to apply to a Master's programme. Our intake consists of an oral, written and online test. After taking the test, you receive a level statement that contains information about your current level, as well as a course advice.
An English assessment determines your language proficiency. After taking the assessment, you will receive a level statement that contains information about your current level of English. A distinction between oral and written skills is made. The results of this assessment can be used to obtain the University Teaching Qualification (BKO) or to prove your English proficiency for the dual language policy (Support staff).
If you want to know whether your (future) employee is sufficiently familiar with the English language in order to function properly, then a language assessment might be a solution. A language assessment determines the current level of English. After the assessment, you will receive a short report in which the results of the tests are described, as well as possible improvements.
What to expect?
We offer a standard English language assessment of € 157.50. In consultation, it is possible to adapt the assessment to the working environment and function of your (future) employee. The assessment can consist of one or more test components:
Test Costs An oral part € 75,- A written part € 37,50 An online part (Oxford Quick Placement Test) € 45,-
The LTC organises assessments on request during the Academic year (September-June). Would you like to request an assessment? Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
An ITP-TOEFL test is a variant of a TOEFL. The results of this test are only valid within Erasmus University Rotterdam. This test result can be used to show that your language level is sufficient to be accepted into a degree programme that is taught in English, or to go on an exchange programme. Please note! This test can’t be used as an entry test for our language courses.
