Important to know is that student housing in the Netherlands is not arranged for you by the university. This is your own responsibility. We strongly advise you to plan ahead and start looking at least 3 months before arrival. Most of our students find their student home on the private market.
But Erasmus University Rotterdam can offer limited rooms for the exchange Spring Semester 2025-2026.
We offer:
- Around 160 shared rooms at SSH (rental price per month between € 610– €850)
- SSH is one of the largest student housing providers in Rotterdam and offers rooms on and nearby campus. You will have a fully-furnished room but share the bathroom/toilet/kitchen with other students of the same gender. The rooms are located on or nearby campus.
- Fixed rental periods:
- 31 December 2025 – 15 May 2026
- 31 December 2025 – 29 July 2026**
- 4 February 2026 – 29 July 2026**
** Due to maintenance works the end date for rooms in the Hatta building will be around 30 June 2026. Exact date needs to be determined.
- 25 flatshare apartments at Tamboerstraat in Rotterdam Crooswijk neighbourhood. (rental price per month between € 850,- and € 1050,-)
- These stylish short-stay apartments are located in a lively yet peaceful neighbourhood. While you’ll enjoy a quiet living environment, the vibrant city centre of Rotterdam is just minutes away. Each apartment is fully furnished and shared with one or two other students. You will have your own private bedroom, while the living room, kitchen, and bathroom are shared. The Erasmus University campus is easily accessible by public transport – just a 20-minute tram ride.

Normally, RoomPlaza only offers flatshare apartments for 12 months. However, they have three flatshare apartments available starting 1 January 2026. Please note that these flats can only be booked as a group, so make sure the number of flatmates matches the capacity of the flat you are interested in.

1. Honingerdijk 45 B1 , Rotterdam (4 persons)
2. Honingerdijk 45 B2, Rotterdam (5 persons)
3. Westerstraat 18P, Rotterdam (3 persons)
Fixed rental period:
1 January 2026 – 23 July 2026
Normally, Student Housing Willemskade only offers rooms for a 12-month rental period. However, they currently have a few rooms available immediately and we may offer these to our Spring exchange students. Please note that the rooms can only be rented for the fixed rental period stated in the advertisement and early termination is not possible.
How to apply
Normally we work with booking vouchers, but because it now concerns only a few rooms we will use a different application process and the rooms can be booked on a first come, first serve base.

- When you see a room you are interested in click “Respond tot this offer”.
- You must “Create a new Account” in order to do this you will have to pay a subscription fee of € 35,-
- You can then show your interest in one room or more rooms.
- HouseHunting, the property manager, will assign the rooms on a first come, first serve base and will inform you about the next steps in the booking process.
Important
Students must meet all allocation requirements listed on our Willemskade webpage to be eligible. After you submit your interest in a room, HouseHunting will check with the university whether you meet the requirements. Please ensure you meet the criteria before applying.
