From 2026, NWO (Dutch Research Council) and UKB (University Libraries and the National Library) will jointly award the annual Leo Waaijers Open Science Prize.
With this prize, UKB, NWO and Open Science NL recognise and honour initiatives that make an important, inspiring and sustainable contribution to the open science movement. These are pioneers who have worked against the tide and thereby set real change in motion.
The winner will be announced during the Open Science Festival on 14 October 2026 in Delft, where the prize will be officially awarded.
Nominations must be submitted by 23 June 2026, 14:00 at the latest.
