After graduation

Molecular Medicine

The MSc Molecular Medicine degree may lead to a PhD position in basic research, or a career at a company or institute as a life science researcher at the MSc level.

Graduates with a background in medicine are likely to become successful clinical researchers who are actively involved in the initiation and supervision of translational clinical research projects.

Graduates with a biomedical background appear to be preferred and qualified candidates for PhD positions within Erasmus MC and other high-ranking and international research institutions; a few examples outside Erasmus MC are the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) Amsterdam, the Max Planck Institute for Experimental Medicine in Göttingen (D), Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München (D),  VIB Flemish Institute for Biotechnology (B), Karolinska Institutet Stockholm (S), Cambridge University (UK), the University of Manchester (UK), the National Institutes of Health (USA), Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard (USA).
