DRIFT successful in attracting six European research grants

DRIFT has been very successful in attracting European research grants from the Horizon 2020 and JPI Europe programmes. DRIFT will participate or lead work packages in six European research projects in the field of energy transition, citizen’s science against pollution, urban food system, social innovation and sustainable urban development.

Action | Participatory Science toolkit against pollution

Thirty-five European Citizen Science initiatives tackling major forms of pollution, which pose substantial threats to human health and to the environment, and contributing to Sustainable Development Goals.

Energy-SHIFTS | Energy Social sciences & Humanities Innovation Forum Targeting the SET-Plan

Energy-SHIFTS will contribute to a European Energy Union that places societal needs centrally, by further developing Europe’s leadership in using and applying energy-related Social Sciences and Humanities (energy-SSH). The aims is to develop an innovative and inclusive Forum incl. scoping workshops, SET-Plan based expert based working groups, policy fellowships, masterclasses and online databases.

UrbanA | Urban Arena for Sustainable and Equitable Solutions

UrbanA will support city-makers – including researchers, policymakers and practitioners – in transforming European cities into inclusive and sustainable urban and peri-urban environments. UrbanA will do so through a transdisciplinary Urban Arena for Sustainable and Equitable Solutions.

SONNET | Social innovation in energy transitions

SONNET aims to create an inter- and transdisciplinary understanding of the diversity, processes, success and contributions of social innovations in energy transitions using a mixed-method approach including Living Labs in five European cities. Through a cutting edge co-creation and dissemination strategy, SONNET ensures that its practical recommendations, tools and capacity building activities have a maximum impact on its key stakeholders such as citizens, SIE actors, policy makers, and business.

TOMORROW | Towards multi-stakeholders transition roadmaps with citizens at the centre

TOMORROW aims at empowering local authorities to lead the transition towards low-carbon, resilient and more liveable cities by engaging citizens and stakeholders in the development of 2050 transition roadmaps. Seven European cities will implement a transition management based methodology for an inclusive and innovative roadmapping process.

JPI EUROPE / NWO project | Sustainable, Innovative, Resilient, and Interconnected Urban food System

Local planners and policy-makers seek scientific guidance and learning opportunities about mechanisms to navigate towards sustainable urban food systems. This project will develop interdisciplinary methods, innovative understandings, and practical managerial insights bridging socio-spatial contexts in China and Europe.
