Case Projects
The Case Projects that we offer are extracurricular opportunities for outstandingstudents. These projects are conducted in addition to the standard curriculum of the master’s programme. There are two distinct Case Projects designed for our master Media Studies students*.
Brand Potential Academy
The Brand Potential Academy is a practical Case Project organised by the international brand agency Brand Potential. The project is open to both master's students and third-year IBCoM students. It was developed to bridge the gap between theory and practice. During this project, students gain hands-on experience in brand strategy, creative concept design, PR, and social media content creation by working on a real case. Students can expect five interactive sessions led by Brand Potential professionals, culminating in a final pitch to a professional jury.
The Consortium
The Consortium aims to provide additional knowledge and hands-on training in Communication and Futures studies for a small group of 5 to 8 students. The Consortium students will choose between major organisations to help them imagine their futures. In the past, partners were TNO, a major think tank located in The Hague, andthe International Film Festival Rotterdam. Students will participate in meetings and workshops with various guest lecturers to develop the skills needed for producing a final product.They will work closely with their chosen organisation, gaining professional skills tailored to the challenges of the world of tomorrow.

Thesis
In terms 3 and 4, you will be working on your thesis. You will develop a socially and academically relevant research question, set up a research design, conduct a small-scale study, and write your thesis. You will be matched with an individual thesis supervisor based on your preferences and the availability of staff. Throughout the process, you can expect individual supervision. In addition, each year we offer a few opportunities in collaboration with external organisations within our network.
