Themes she dealt with are hope and utopian thinking, understandings of time and progress in liberal ideology, Tocqueville, social contract in corporate law theory and recently perceptions of AI. She regularly writes about the French 19th century author Victor Hugo, but also about modern French literature. Her approach is critical and hermeneutical, drawing on the phenomenological and hermeneutical tradition (Ricoeur, Marcel and others). She uses her research topics in het teaching activities, such as supervising BA thesis on law and emotion and MA theses on corporate law with a theoretical focus.
