Introduction and Orientation activities

Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences (ESSB) organises orientation activities for exchange students in the week before the beginning of/the first week of each semester. Information regarding the planning is updated a few months before the beginning of the study period. ESSB introduction activities are mandatory and are very important in terms of being able to study at ESSB. Failure to attend without a relevant reason has implications for your exchange. Please make sure you arrive on time to attend the ESSB introduction activities. You will receive more information about the ESSB exchange introduction session such as date, programme etc.by email (at least one month) before the start of your exchange. Make sure to check your mailbox regularly.

Orientation/ introduction activities will also be organised by the central level of Erasmus University Rotterdam for all new (international) students. They will place in August for the first/fall semester and in January for the second/spring semester. Please make sure you are in the Netherlands during the days of the orientation/introduction activities. It is a great opportunity to meet new friends and learn new things. The general university introduction and orientation activities are not obligatory, however we strongly encourage you to be present.

*EMPA/EuMIGS master exchange students are invited to check the introduction programme for the master programme they have chosen most courses from (either Master of International Public Management and Policy or Governance of Migration and Diversity) at Introduction activities. For them the bachelor exchange introduction is not necessary, but the master introduction is obligatory. You will also be receiving more information regarding your studies from the respective master programme before the start of the studies.
