Biography
My research is in ancient philosophy. My Oxford monograph, The Stoics on Lekta: All there is to say, (2019) gives a full account of the Stoic philosophical system in which logic, physics and ethics are grounded on entities which are incorporeal, hence imperceptible and non-agentive, but co-constitutive of onotology: they are what there is in the world, to say when we use language, though independent of ever being said or thought by humans; they are what actions make true and as such have truth value; they are then, also what there is to know.
I have expertise in the Hellenistic schools in their time, within the debates and polemics they stir with the Classical schools of Plato and Aristotle, as also in their reception thoughout antiquity into the Late Antique period.
My fields of interest are logic, ontology, philosophy of mind and language in antiquity, as also the reception of the ancient debates in the Renaissance and Early Modern period.
