Biography
“Joost Zuurbier is an associate professor of management accounting and control at Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management (ESHPM), Erasmus University Rotterdam. He holds a master's degree in business engineering (ir) from the University of Twente, and a PhD (dr) in management control (thesis on the design of management control systems for hospitals).
His research focuses mainly on management control systems and performance measurement for healthcare providers.
As a teacher, Joost is involved in the master program Health Care Management (HCM) and Zorg Management (ZoMa) at ESHPM. In his teaching he uses real-life cases from his 30-year experience as a management consultant in healthcare.
Joost is also program director Financial Management in Healthcare at the Erasmus Centrum voor Zorgbestuur, a post-academic education center for healthcare professionals.”
