Biography

My research focuses on analyzing data and using mathematical models to answer public health questions and guide health policy decisions. I have contributed extensively to policymaking in the Netherlands, Türkiye, China, and the United States through the development of decision models and continue to aid countries in formulating national policies for Hepatitis B infection control. I am particularly interested in conducting cost-effectiveness analysis in low- and middle-income countries to inform decision making and guide the allocation of health care resources. By considering both the costs and benefits of interventions and taking into account the local context, including factors such as the availability of resources, the local health system, and cultural attitudes towards health, we can make informed decisions that will help improve health outcomes in these settings. I believe in simplifying complex information to empower people to think critically and take control of their health and the health of the population. We can use the synthesized data, simple mathematical models and tools we have to inform the public.
