dr. S (Sofia) Ntaliou, MSc

Biography

Sofia Ntaliou is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Public Administration and Sociology, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and a member of the Policy, Politics and Society group. A human geographer with a background in urban planning and social justice, her work is motivated by a desire to understand how cities respond to migration and to the needs of undocumented and underdocumented residents. In her doctoral research at University College Dublin, she compared migration governance in Athens and Dublin. Her current project, ANCHOR, examines how urban citizenship is cultivated, sustained or dismantled in large and medium-sized cities in Greece and the Netherlands, approaching political will as an urban infrastructure.
