Which specific positions are eligible for a Certificate of Recognition?

Positions that qualify for being granted an Certificate of Recognition are registered as recognized activities. An overview can be downloaded and viewed via the link at the bottom of this page.

The activity I took part in is not shown in the overview, what now?

It is not possible to request a certificate of recognition for activities that are not registered as recognized by the Erasmus University Rotterdam. However, if you participated in an activity that you believe should be recognized, it is possible to make a request. Contact, before you request the certificate, the board of the organization for which you carried out the activity. They can request recognition of activities via the form that can be downloaded below. 

Please note: Not every activity is eligible for recognition. The activity has to correspond with the mission, vision and goals of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Read the information below to check if your activity can be registered as a recognized activity. If you have any further questions regarding this information, please contact the secretariat via the contact form.  

What kinds of activities are eligible for a Certificate of Recognition?

Activities for which recognition can be requested have to be of the following type:

  • Board or committee positions in student organisations recognized by - or registered with - the EUR (minimum of 200 hours per year)
  • Committee positions in organizations that organize events that are recognized by the EUR (minimum of 100 hours per year). E.G.: European University Games 2014.
  • Erasmus Ambassadors, First Ambassadors and student members of the various Programme Committees or Faculty Councils (minimum of 100 hours per year)
  • Other types of community services. (minimum of 100 hours per year)

Board and committee positions in student organisations recognized by - or registered with - the EUR (minimum of 200 hours per year)

This category includes all board or committee positions in student societies recognised by or registered with the EUR. It is not possible to make a request for activities for organizations that are not registered at the university.

Committee positions in organizations that organize events that are recognized by the EUR (minimum of 100 hours per year)

All activities for recognised events are included in this category. An example of this is the Erasmus Investment Society’s B&R fair. 

Erasmus Ambassadors, First Ambassadors and student members of the various Programme Committees or Faculty Councils (minimum of 100 hours per year)

“Our students are the university’s best ambassadors." This is the motto of the student Ambassadors who provide information on the 24 bachelor programmes offered by the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR). The Ambassadors accompany students attending an Erasmus orientation day and work in a variety of roles during the Erasmus Bachelor Open Days. They annually represent the EUR at approximately 75 high schools across the country.
