ESSB Alumni board

Alumni indicate that they like to remain involved with the faculty. Professors also want to maintain a relationship with their students, even after their graduation. To support this relationship, The Alumni Relations Officer established the ESSB alumni board in 2021 consisting of alumni from the various disciplines; public administration, pedagogical sciences, sociology and psychology.

What does the alumni board do?

The entire ESSB alumni board meets twice a year. Several professors of the faculty are also present at these meetings. Also, The ESSB Alumni Relations Officer holds separate meetings with the alumni board members from each discipline. During these meetings, they discuss domain-specific initiatives such as a lecture, especially for sociology alumni. The alumni and professors on the ESSB Alumni Board help with:

  • Organizing events;
  • Offer webinars with academic guest speakers;
  • Use the alumni network for internships;
  • Improve education at the faculty.

Board members of the ESSB alumni board

  • Raquel Gonzalez completed the Bachelor Psychology and the Master Organizational Psychology at ESSB. It is her mission to share knowledge and inspire others to become the best version of themselves. As part of the alumni board, she wants to ensure that more knowledge is exchanged between the university and the alumni to strengthen the long-lasting bond.

  • Rosalie Ekstein (they/them) completed the Master's degree in Labour and Organisational Management. They are now involved in society through activism, politics and scouting. They find diversity and inclusiveness very important and hopes that alumni can be more involved in exchanging social capital or reflecting on social issues. They also hope to help the faculty lower the thresholds for neurodivergent students and students with disabilities.

  • Loïs Gampierakis is an alumna of the Pedagogical Sciences programme. Educational innovation, equal opportunities and the well-being of students are important motives in her working life. Through her participation in the alumni board, she hopes to be able to contribute to these topics. Her goal is to enable all students to benefit from opportunities during their studies that contribute to their personal and professional development.
