Profile

Amarantha Groen is a Lecturer in the Humanities at Erasmus University College.

Groen teaches courses on all levels within the Humanities department at EUC, including (Late) ModernityEarly Modern Political PhilosophyGender Studies, as well as Skills Courses such as Academic Writing and Project Development. She also developed and currently teaches the course Feminist Philosophy.

After her training in Gender and Ethnicity Studies (RMA, 4.0 GPA) and Philosophy (BA, 4.0 GPA, Cum Laude), Groen moved to New York where she completed a 2-year acting conservatory program at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and continued to work for their Outreach Division at Manhattan Detention Center. 

Groen wrote her Research Master’s thesis on the potentials of (philosophical) wonder for feminist theory, and her current research interests and practices are located at the intersections of (feminist) philosophy, philosophy of birth, queer theory, critical theory, and feminist new materialisms.
