Experience studying at EUC
During EUCjr, the students follow classes at EUC within the four different departments: Social & Behavioural Sciences, Life Sciences, Humanities, and Economics & Business. This gives students a better idea of what studying at EUC is like and helps them discover which topics are the best fit for them.
Build important skills
EUCjr students also participate in a wide variety of workshops. These workshops are designed to develop practical skills to build their confidence and help them in their studies and later career, such as presenting, debating, and academic writing.
Practical sessions which involve experiencing the academic and institutional culture are part of the programme as well. Also, since self-awareness can be a huge help in choosing your studies, workshops in discovering self-identity are offered.
Unique opportunity for VWO students
In short, EUCjr is a unique opportunity for VWO students to try out university, develop a higher sense of self-awareness, and build a toolset that will help them achieve their ambitions.
EUCjr offers an opportunity for people. I thought that speaking the Dutch language was a requirement for studying at a university, but EUC allows you to still work on your future even when you are not fluent in the Dutch language.
Programme overview
EUCjr consists of 8 full days spread over the months February, March and April. Some days are filled with problem-based learning sessions on specific subjects. These sessions will be interactive and small-scale study sessions, for which self-study is expected to be done. The rest of the days are filled with lectures, workshops on learning practical skills and of course some fun activities led by the EUC students. It’s important to note that this year the programme will take place on location, so students are expected to be physically present during the aforementioned 8 days.

Certificate
After successfully finishing the eight-day programme, you will receive a certificate of completion. This means that you will have learnt to work together effectively in a small group, have mastered research-related skills, and familiarised yourself with an academic environment.
It also means you have experienced the different subjects offered at EUC, giving you a better understanding of the different fields of study and how they are interconnected. You will have also learned about the opportunities that studying at a university can offer, and how to use your own talents and strengths to achieve your goals.
Apply and contact
You have received an application form within your class or school during the information session. If you missed this, or you want to ask other questions related to EUCjr, please contact the coordinator at eucjr@euc.eur.nl.
