The official opening of Brain Awareness Week promises to offer a unique live experience in which research and artistic expression complement each other. The evening will start with music, followed by a lecture and performance by Dr. Suzanne Dikker (New York University, Ghent University) and Dr. Suzan Tunca (ICK Dans Amsterdam, Codarts).

In Harmonic Dissonance: Synchron(icity), the scientists present their experimental research into the synchronisation of brains and dancing bodies. Based on their insights, they explore how people attune to each other on a neurological and physical level.

Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is a global initiative that has been raising awareness of the importance of brain research among the general public for 25 years. In Rotterdam, it is led by Dr Anderson Mora Cortes (EUC). BAW is celebrated every year in the third week of March in more than 100 countries, involving universities, hospitals, NGOs, colleges and private organisations.
