The Erasmus Centre for Energy Transition is an interdisciplinary centre of Erasmus University Rotterdam that connects researchers, students, industry partners and policymakers working on the energy transition. The centre brings together expertise from across faculties to address the economic, governance, legal and societal dimensions of transforming energy systems.
By fostering collaboration between academia and practice, ECET develops research, education and engagement initiatives that contribute to informed decision-making and practical solutions for the transition to sustainable energy systems.
Our vision
ECET envisions Erasmus University and its surrounding region as a hub for innovation and leadership in the energy transition - an "Energy Transition Valley". Our mission is to build a dynamic ecosystem that fosters education, research, collaboration, and sustainable progress, positioning South Holland and the Netherlands at the forefront of the global energy transition.

We aim to equip all EUR students and future energy leaders with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to navigate the energy transition and create awareness of the deep connection with climate and ecological change.

We support and enhance collaborative Energy Transition research aimed at sustainable acceleration.
Societal Engagement: Building Learning Communities
We bridge academia, business, government & society to building (international) partnerships & learning communities to co-innovate and accelerate in sustainable manner.
