Procrastination vs. thinking
Our brain believes that thinking about stuff helps us to find solutions and control the things around us. It helps us to take a step back, analyze what is happening and choose the best way to act.  Although that is true, thinking might switch to procrastination. Procrastionation is defined as the action of delaying or postponing something. The amount of thinking leads up to over-worrying and thus not taking action, which then results in more worries.

While most academics value their rational approach to things, procrastination often leads to an emotional response. You start to feel unhappy, unsatisfied, scared or insecure as a result of this ‘rational’ approach. Many people find it difficult to deal well with this tangle of emotions.

Procrastination won’t change over time. It needs directed attention and action. In this course you learn how to deal with procrastination.

The course
This course helps you to look at your thoughts and actions from a helicopter-view, to understand where it is helpful what you do and where you benefit from changing what you do.

We’ll talk about other ways to deal with insecurities and fears, so you can stress less about things such as deadlines or meetings with your supervisor and direct that energy towards action.
