Modern university administration is guided by several tacit assumptions: You have to be international, you have to strive for excellence, you have to valorize your achievements in a certain way, you have to recruit the best and the brightest, et cetera. Assumptions about the public role of the university tend to be disregarded in such a climate. In an attempt to both reflect on the public role of the university and facilitate a counternarrative, the EIPK launches a reading group.
