Biography
Anna Priante is Assistant Professor and Academic Director of MSc Business Information Management at Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University.
Her research is at the intersection of sociology and information systems and aims at understanding how digital technologies affect people, organizations and society at large. The overarching theme of her research is the social impact of digital technologies, that is, how digital technologies can be used to address relevant social problems and promote social change. In her research, Anna combines various methods, including network analytics, statistical analysis, and computational-intensive approaches for theory construction. Her work has been published in leading multi-disciplinary journals including New Media & Society, Social Networks, Information & Management, Nonprofit Voluntary Sector Quarterly, and Sociology of Health and Illenss, and has appeared in multiple international conferences (Academy of Management Annual Meeting, International Conference of Information Systems, Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, American Sociology Association Annual Meeting, and International Sunbelt Social Network Conference).
Besides being active in education-related research, Anna is also an engaged lecturer striving towards educational innovation with social impact. Anna is a CLI Fellow and works on a project to improve inclusive education at RSM, especially focusing on inclusive teamwork and peer collaboration. In addition, she contributes to several educational projects on (Gen)AI innovation and is active member of the 'EdTech & Educational Analytics' Expert Practice at the Erasmus Center for Data Analytics (ECDA).
