Gijs Custers is a PhD candidate at the Department of Sociology of the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

His research focuses on social inequalities between neighbourhoods in Rotterdam. The project is partly funded by the municipality of Rotterdam and aims to analyse the Wijkprofiel data (see https://wijkprofiel.rotterdam.nl) from a scientific perspective. Gijs mainly employs quantitative methods (multilevel models, latent class analysis, GIS), but also qualitative methods to a lesser extent.
