The world faces many big challenges, climate change, a variety of inequalities, governments that use their power to serve themselves rather than the people, and so on. In the spirit of Jan Tinbergen, our department firmly believes that scientific progress is required for finding solutions for real-world problems.
Much of the research at our department is inspired by various real-world challenges and we aim to contribute to the collective scientific effort all over the world to make it a better place.
