Dean congratulates appointed professors David Veenman and Patrick Verwijmeren

Decaan feliciteert hoogleraren Patrick Verwijmeren en David

On Wednesday September 3, Dean Philip Hans Franses surprised Patrick Verwijmeren and David Veenman with a bouquet of flowers for their appointment as Professor.

As of 15 July 2014, Patrick Verwijmeren has been appointed as full professor of Corporate Finance at Erasmus School of Economics. The research of Patrick Verwijmeren focuses on capital structure choices, developments in corporate governance, and the art market. An important part of his research deals with convertible securities.

David Veenman has been appointed as endowed Professor of Financial Reporting and Valuation at Erasmus School of Economics on behalf of the Vereniging Trustfonds EUR (also as of 15 July 2014). Veenman conducts academic research on the role of financial reporting and other disclosures in public company valuation.

In the next few years they will play a leading role in further developing and strengthening the Finance Group (Verwijmeren) and the Accounting, Auditing and Control group (Veenman) at the department of Business Economics at Erasmus School of Economics.

On Friday September 19, 2014 Prof. Patrick Verwijmeren will publicly accept his appointment as professor Corporate Finance in Erasmus School of Economics with an inaugural lecture entitled “Forensic Finance”.
