Distinguished PhD Supervisor Award for Casper de Vries

Casper de Vries PhD Supervisor Award

Professor Casper G. de Vries, H.J Witteveen Chair of Monetary Economics at Erasmus School of Economics and fellow of the Tinbergen Institute, is honoured with the distinguished PhD Supervisor Award for supervising over 25 PhD theses in his career as researcher.

The award was presented by Dean Frank van der Duijn Schouten on Thursday, 9 May 2019: ‘PhD supervision is an intriguing process of providing guidance and keeping distance on the way to become an independent and conscientious researcher. The School is very grateful for all Casper’s efforts to support so many PhD candidates.’

De Vries is the third Erasmus School of Economics faculty member who achieves this milestone. In 2011 Professor Philip Hans Franses and Professor Rommert Dekker received the Praeceptor Doctorum Celeberrimus Award of the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM).
