Dutch households take too high risks when investing

Alumna Laura van Geest believes many individual investors do not see the downside of investing. Rather, they see new investment options, like crypto, as a way to get rich fast.

Laura van Geest, chairwoman of the AFM, has noticed some discrepancies in the market. This means that the market looks overheated, which is worrying as many investing individuals and household are not trained or supported by professional investors and thus may lose a lot of money. Van Geest mentions that most households do not realise this risk.
