Elections for the University Council are now open

Elections for participatory bodies at Erasmus University will end on Wednesday 16 April. Student and Erasmus School of Economics Council Chair Quinten de Gruijter calls for high turnout.

The faculty council is the highest participatory body within Erasmus School of Economics, with a say in key decisions and the ability to propose initiatives. De Gruijter highlights recent successes, such as a compromise on exam durations—keeping the standard at two hours while allowing for one-hour extensions if needed.

As chair, he works to balance the interests of students and staff, despite occasional tensions. He also notes the council’s low visibility and urges students to get involved. This year, ten candidates are running for seven student seats, meaning elections will be held.

Voting is open from 9 to 16 April via verkiezingen.eur.nl, with more information on MyEUR.
