Erasmus Charity Run haalt fantastisch bedrag op voor het

On Friday, 25 April 2014, Philip Hans Franses, dean of Erasmus School of Economics handed over a check worth € 10,036.30 to Wouter Gudde of charitable organisation 'Playing for Success Excelsior. This incredible amount was raised by more than 300 students, staff and alumni of the Erasmus University Rotterdam who participated in the Erasmus Charity Run during the Marathon Rotterdam on Sunday, 13 April 2014.

It is the second time that Erasmus School of Economics organised this charity event. In 2013, students and staff of the School took part in various distances of the Rotterdam marathon, but in honour of the centennial celebration all students and staff members of the university were invited to join the run. Various Schools  and student associations were represented in this centennial edition. The majority of the runners took part in the 10 K Run and only a few brave ones ran the full marathon with a distance of 42,195 K.

On Friday, 25 April, the exact amount of money raised for charity was announced during halftime of the soccer match Excelsior - FC Oss. The corresponding cheque was handed over to Playing for Success Excelsior on the centre spot of the football pitch . Prior to this, an award ceremony took place to honour the individuals who raised the highest amount of money and finished the race first.

On behalf of all those involved in the Erasmus Charity Run 2014, THANK YOU!
