Various media, including het Algemeen Dagblad, have paid attention to the research among 30,000 job seekers by the career platform Magnet.me. This platform investigates which users with which education were approached most often by employers last year. To our great delight, Erasmus University Rotterdam is listed thirteen times in the top-50 most popular further education programmes.

Masters of Erasmus School of Economics

The master specialisation Data Science and Marketing Analytics at Erasmus School of Economics is even ranked second in the top-50. Moreover, the master Financial Economics of Erasmus School of Economics is ranked ninth. The fact that the master's in Data Science and Marketing Analytics is ranked second is also related to the growing demand for data analysts. According to the Harvard Business Review, for example, data analyst is the sexiest job of the twenty-first century. The enormous growth in the use of data also plays a significant role.

Founders' reaction

Founders of the programme, Professor of Marketing Research Bas Donkers, and Michel van de Velden, Associate Professor of Statistics, are very happy with the achievement: 'We are delighted with the confirmation from the business community that the Data Science and Marketing Analytics master is a strong and relevant programme. It is even more remarkable that employers are already finding our programme so well, even though it has only been around for 5 years. This shows the strength of the programme, which combines the latest data science methods with an understanding of the problems relevant to business. This enables our students to get to work immediately in large as well as smaller organisations to gain relevant, actionable insights from the available data.'
