Professor Hans Gortemaker RA, affiliated with ESAA and former member of the global board of PwC, has shared his view on the plans of the Dutch minister of finance, Wopke Hoekstra, to assign a committee to review the industry of accountancy. In this committee no accountants will be seated, even though there are some major topics of the industry up for discussion. Professor Gortemaker thinks that the modern business economist should definitely be a representative that is present in the committee that is being assigned.
