'If Joost didn't notice you, it was a lot harder to reach the top'

Alumnus Joost van Heyningen Nanninga, the most renowned headhunter and confidential adviser of many members of supervisory boards, has officially said farewell to his company Egon Zehnder. 

During his career, Joost made sure his name was a real concept in the Board Room. In 1980,  he founded the Dutch branch of Egon Zehnder, one of the worlds largest companies in the executive search industry. Exectuvie search is not a profession but a form of art, according to Joost. Together with fellow EUR alumnus, Sikko Onnes,  and other Insead alumni Reinier Brakema, Jan Theo Bautz and Floris Recourt, he startes in a small office in the Hague. 

 

What made him so successful? Colleagues describe his continuous drive to seek contact with people. His clients speek of their appreciation that he is willing to voice his opinion about people in every situation.
