Maarten Bosker, Endowed Professor of International Trade and Economics Development

On Friday, 10 May 2019 Maarten Bosker will publicly accept his appointment as Endowed Professor of International Trade and Economics Development at Erasmus School of Economics. The title of his inaugural lecture is “Geography and Economic Development”.

In his research, Maarten Bosker focuses on the traditional questions concerning the role that international trade plays in influencing current welfare disparities between and within countries and their development. In doing so, Bosker is building on recent scientific work in which he demonstrates that the analysis of the welfare effects of international trade can be greatly improved by using mathematical insights that were previously applied in the analysis of network externalities in social networks.
