Jan Stoop to be appointed as member of the Young Erasmus Academy
As of 1 January 2020, Associate Professor Jan Stoop is to be one of the new members of the Young Erasmus Academy, a network of ambitious young researchers at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Stoop will be appointed for a period of five years.
The aim of the Young Erasmus Academy is to promote interdisciplinary collaborations between excellent young researchers. In addition, members of the Young Erasmus Academy advise the Executive Board on matters relating to academic- and research policy issues and contribute to strengthen the profile of Erasmus University Rotterdam in the public domain.
The membership of the Young Erasmus Academy follows earlier recognition for Jan Stoop’s performances. In May 2019, Stoop obtained an NWO Vidi grant. In 2013, he was awarded a Fellowship Award of Erasmus University Rotterdam, an NWO Veni grant in 2014 and the Pierson Medal in 2015 (a triennial award for researchers on the brink of international breakthrough).
