Jan Tinbergen, the most important Dutchman of the 20th century

Every second week a new podcast about Jan Tinbergen will be broadcasted by BNR Nieuwsradio and the ESB. 50 years ago he won the first Nobel Prize for the Economy, and nowadays we still experience his influence.

Besides winning the Nobel Prize together with Ragnar Frisch, Tinbergen founded the CBP, was director of the CBS, Secretary General of the International Statistical Institute, member of the club of Rome and active at the League of Nations. According to Tinbergen, economic models should serve a specific purpose and econometrics should help our society move forward.

In this first podcast, of a total of eleven, editor in chief from the ESB, Jasper Lukkezen, former minister Jan Pronk and biographer Erwin Dekker go on a search for the person Jan Tinbergen. Who was he, and what did he contribute to our world?
