Jeroen Suijs appointed Professor of Financial Accounting at Erasmus School of Economics

Jeroen Suijs benoemd tot hoogleraar financial Accounting bij

As of 1 June 2017, Jeroen Suijs has been appointed as Professor of Financial Accounting at Erasmus School of Economics. His mission is to advance the international research profile of the Accounting, Auditing and Control section within Erasmus School of Economics. His own research focuses on the one hand on the role of financial reporting on the proper functioning of capital markets and on the other hand on the functioning of the market for external audits.

After completing his study econometrics and operations research and his PhD on cooperative game theory, Jeroen Suijs worked as an assistant and associate professor at Tilburg University and Rotterdam School of Management, respectively. At the latter institution he was appointed full professor of Financial Accounting in 2007. Since 2008 Jeroen again worked at Tilburg University, of which 5 years as Head of the Accountancy Department. His research has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Accounting Research and the Journal of Accounting and Economics and Review of Accounting Studies.
