On Friday, 8 November 2019, Professor Esther Duflo, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics 2019, is giving a keynote entitled 'Good Economics for Hard Times', prior to the honorary doctorate she receives during the annual Dies Natalis. The keynote takes place between 11:00 and 12:30, in CB-05 (Theil Building).
In this keynote, Esther Duflo introduces her new book ‘Good Economics for Hard Times’, co-authored with Abhijit Banerjee. They use the best recent economics to demonstrate how to think about these problems differently. Furthermore, they present intelligent, daring solutions based on sound research into real-life situations, towards a society built on compassion and respect.
