In 2019, together with other organisations, Erasmus School of Economics is celebrating the fact that fifty years ago Jan Tinbergen received the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. With his knowledge and motivation, Jan Tinbergen made a difference to society His influence on the economic sciences and on the way the Netherlands is governed and global issues are discussed are still visible today and will be relevant in the future as well.
Under the title of ‘Tinbergen Today’ we reflect on the legacy of Jan Tinbergen. The specially created website TinbergenToday.nl brings an overview of all the activities planned, a brief biography of Jan Tinbergen and exclusive visual material. The site will also publish reports on all the activities afterwards.
