On 1 September 2022 Mario van Boven will take up the position of Director of Operations at Erasmus School of Economics. Mario van Boven currently works as manager in the Management & Organisation faculty of The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Before that, he held various managerial and operational positions at Rabobank and the Royal Netherlands Army.
He will succeed Suzanne van der Pluijm, who resigned from this position in May.
As Director of Operations, Mario van Boven will be responsible for developing and managing the implementation of strategic objectives in the fields of Finance, ICT, HRM, Management and Policy, and Facilities and Accommodation. Patrick Groenen, Dean of Erasmus School of Economics, is happy with the appointment of Mario van Boven: "I am confident that Mario will soon feel at home and that he will fill the position in a good way. I look forward working with Mario and expect that his expertise, experience and personality will prove a great addition to our School and the management team."

About Mario van Boven
Mario van Boven studied at the Royal Military Academy for 10 years and worked as an officer with the Royal Netherlands Army in various managerial and broad operational management, including 3 international missions. Here he has accumulated a lot of experience and practical knowledge in the field of leadership and (team) collaboration.
After that he worked for 10 years in various managerial and business positions within Rabobank, where he gained a lot of knowledge and experience in all areas of business management. Finally, since 2016 he has been manager in the Faculty of Management & Organisation of The Hague University of Applied Sciences, where he is responsible for all areas of business management. He also recently completed an executive master's degree in Management & Organization at TIAS.
