Do professors have other hobbies besides doing research? They certainly do. Philip Hans Franses, Professor of Applied Econometrics and Marketing Research, is a fervent painter.

When Professor of Church History Paul van Geest visited Franses' studio, he suggested he painted the Way of the Cross. And so it happened: two months later, Franses finished fourteen stations depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucification. Van Geest: "Philip Hans has outdone himself".

In an interview with Stijn Fens in Trouw, published on 10 April, 2020, Philip Hans Franses and Paul van Geest talk about the crucification of Christ and about the book that came from their collaboration.
