Rogier Quaedvlieg nominated for Christiaan Huygens Prize

Rogier Quaedvlieg genomineerd voor Christaan Huygensprijs

Rogier Quaedvlieg, Assistant Professor at Erasmus School of Economics, is one of the nominees for the Christiaan Huygens Prize with his dissertation 'Risk and Uncertainty'. In his dissertation Rogier Quaedvlieg deals with measuring and predicting uncertainty in financial markets. 

The Christiaan Huygens Prize has been awarded annually since 1989 to a beta scientist who has provided an innovative contribution to science in one of the areas in which Christiaan Huygens made major discoveries: mathematics and econometrics, physics and astronomy. 

The award ceremony will take place on October 9th. Besides receiving a certificate, a bronze sculpture of Huygens and the fame, the winner will also receive ten thousand euros. 

Earlier this year Rogier Quaedvlieg was awarded with a Veni-Grant from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientif Research (NWO).
