What a true leader should be like

If all hell breaks loose on 29 March 2019, the Brexiteers will not be celebrating alone. Supporters of Trump, Wilders, Le Pen and the yellow vests will party with them. Chaos namely means change of the status quo, says Sandra Phlippen, assistant professor at Erasmus School of Economics and Head for the Netherlands of ABN AMRO’s Group Economics. For those who favour the status quo, this chaos is undesirable. However, for those that live outside of the bubble and currently only see deteriorating within society it is different. For them, chaos brings change and this change can only result in progress. So, they will think that they have nothing to lose.

But what is all hell breaks loose in England in a little more than two months, asks Sandra Phlippen? Reality will then soon kick in: British products will become more expensive on the global market, people will loose their jobs, housing prices will fall and grocery prices will increase rapidly. Is that the change the elite wants? I do not believe so.  The elite from London is in the position to move quite easily to the main land, Amerika or Hong Kong. Those who will stay behind are the frustrated Britons that supported the Brexit. They will undoubtly come to understand that they did have much more to loose and that chaos did not bring them any progress at all. The big question remains what it will bring then. I do not have an answer to that question, but the president of France might have one. Last week, president Macron gathered with the mayors of hundreds of small hamlets in France. Not with the worldelite, but with mayors that know everybody in their village and know their inhabitants are struggeling with. Macron listend to them, showed his compassion and offered them ideas. After ten hours of discussion the mayors gave him a standing ovation, because this is what a true leader should be like.
