Student Economics of Management and Organisation

Why did I choose Economics of Management and Organisation?

Upon completion of my bachelors' degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences at University College Utrecht, I wanted to continue my academic career with a Master’s programme in economics. As I was searching for a programme focused on both theory and real world applications, taught at a renowned university, the Msc Economics and Business seemed a perfect fit.

Of the entire discipline, my interest is mainly sparked by micro economics, due to its mathematically challenging nature and relevance in business. Hence, I chose for the Economics of Management and Organisation specialisation.

The curriculum

During the programme, you extensively cover both the theoretical and empirical literature of the field and obtain crucial research skills during courses such as Applied Econometrics and the seminars. I particularly enjoyed the seminar Recent Advances in Economics of Management and Organisation, due to its interactive setting and focus on empirical research.

The research skills you obtain throughout the year are very useful. Not only due to the increasing demand for data driven research in business, but also for your thesis, which I was able to write at ING thanks to this programme.

Accordingly, if you happen to be a prospective student and your interests are somewhat aligned with mine, this Master’s specialisation is definitely worth looking into!
