Sending certified copies
Sending the originals of certified copies of your documents per post is the next step towards completion of your application and enrolment as a bachelor student at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Please send us the documents as soon as you can and before the 1st of August.
You need to send us the following documents to complete your application:
- A certified copy of your high school diploma(s)
- A certified translation of a copy of your high school diploma(s) if the original is not in English, Dutch, French or German;
- For students obtaining their Zeugnis der allgemeine Hochschulreife: the Zeugnis includes both your diploma and your transcript;
- A certified copy of your final high school transcripts (grade list);
- A certified translation of your final high school transcripts if the original is not in English, Dutch, French or German.
Please note: do not send us your original diploma/transcripts, but only your certified copies.
A certified copy is a copy of a filed document, legal or other, which contains a seal that establishes that the document is genuine. Thus, it should have a stamp and signature stating that it is a true copy. A document may be certified by an officially authorised person (this can be the counselor at your school, a sworn translator, a notary or, in the UK, the post office).
Applicants with a Dutch vwo diploma do not need to present hardcopies of their high school diploma. We can verify your previous education online.
Send documents where?
Please mind that only after the university has received the documents per post your application for admission will transition into enrolment. Below are the addresses you can use to send the documents to us:
Erasmus University Rotterdam
Admissions Office, Sanders building, L3-010
P.O. Box 1738
3000 DR Rotterdam
Please use the visiting address if you are sending packages by courier.
No diploma yet at the moment of application
We can only enroll you after receiving certified copies of your diploma, final transcript and certified translations if the originals are not in English, German, French or Dutch. If you are expecting to graduate at the end of August, please make sure that a scan of your diploma/ letter from your high school stating that you have graduated and fulfilled all the requirements of your school reaches us BEFORE the last week of August. Please send us a scan by e-mail as soon as you receive them and post the originals.
If you choose to do it in the last week of August we can give you no guarantee that your enrolment will be complete – you will be competing with thousands of other late-senders for the attention of just a few employees manually processing your data in the system.
BOTTOM LINE: send in your final documents as soon as you have them!
