Sending hard copies of your documents to DUO

What action is required from you regarding DUO depends on the type of high school diploma you have received. Depending on your prior education, you have to send DUO either a certified copy and list of marks of your non-Dutch diploma or a statement of admission based on your diploma, defined by the educational institution. Pick the situation that applies to you and click on one of the links for more detailed information on what is expected from you:

IB-diploma

If you already obtained your International Baccalaureate we request an official certified copy of both the diploma and the final transcript (as distributed by the IB Diploma Programme). Will you graduate this summer and receive your results early July? If so, you will receive your diploma in August and will thus not be able to send your diploma to us on time. In order to work around this, the university and DUO accept your provisional results that will be online July 6. It would be great if you could send us your candidate results login details or submit Erasmus University as a recipient, so that we can check your scores online. In correspondence with DUO, always write your citizen service number (BSN) or education number on the top right corner on the documents. You must fill out the request to DUO for permission to submit your results at a later date (you need your personal BSN or education number, the latter can be found in the letter you have received from DUO).

EB-diploma or diploma from certain EEA states

Generally, students who have received an EB or a diploma from certain EEA states (that is listed in this document) will have to send a certified copy of your diploma and transcript to DUO.

In correspondence with DUO, always write your citizen service number (BSN) or education number on the top right corner on the documents.

If you fear that the official documents may not reach DUO on time (you know that post can be slow), you must fill out the request to DUO for permission to submit the hard copies of certified copies of your diploma and grade list (to DUO and the University) at a later date (you need your personal BSN or education number, the latter can be found in the letter you have received from DUO).

No diploma yet?

Fill out the request to DUO for permission to submit the hard copies of certified copies of your diploma and grade list at a later stage before June 23  (you need your personal BSN or 'education number', the latter can be found in the letter you have received from DUO). This step is obligatory for everyone who yet has to graduate. Failing to do so will result in being expelled from participating in the placement procedure. So, just in case, even if you expect to graduate soon, fill out this form to ensure your place in the programme. Even if you have not received any letters from DUO, do submit the documents and fill out the form as mentioned above.

Diploma from countries outside listed EEA states

Students from countries outside EEA and EEA countries not listed in this document need a beschikking from the university. We will write this for you, so that you can participate in the selection and placement by DUO. It is automatically arranged that we can do so until August 1, though we will try to do this sooner, of course. If you feel insecure about this, you may fill out the request to DUO for permission to submit the hard copies of certified copies of your diploma and grade list (to DUO and the University) at a later stage before June 23 (you need your personal education number, this can be found in the letter you have received from DUO).

No diploma yet?

We can only write the beschikking after receiving certified copies of your diploma, final transcript and certified translations if the originals are not in English, German, French or Dutch. Please send us a scan by e-mail as soon as you receive them and post the originals. After receiving the documents, we can write your beschikking.

Your placement offer will consequently be distributed at a later stage. Despite the fact that your place in the programme will not be definite until mid- or late August, we recommend you to prepare your travels to Rotterdam nevertheless.

A-level students

Students graduating their A-levels will not receive provisional results until mid-August. We are aware of this and will write you a beschikking after receiving a certified copy of your provisional results digitally immediately when you receive them, and certified hard copies of your GCSE and AS-level results by post before August 1.

Considering your results come in only mid-August, your placement offer will consequently be distributed at a later stage. Despite the fact that your place in the programme will not be definite until mid- or late August, we recommend you to travel to Rotterdam nevertheless.
