GenAI tools are increasingly being used for studying, writing, brainstorming, coding, and finding information. GenAI is becoming a common part of student life. Whether it’s brainstorming ideas, summarising readings, improving writing, preparing for exams, or learning to code, GenAI tools can help you work more effectively. But they don't always get things right. AI can make up information, reflect biases, or provide misleading answers, which is why it's important to use these tools critically and responsibly.
What will you learn?
The e-module introduces students to the responsible use of GenAI in higher education.
After completing this 60 minute e-module, you will be able to:
- Understand the opportunities and limitations of GenAI tools.
- Recognise ethical considerations related to AI use, including academic integrity, authorship, privacy, and bias.
