International Conference Tangible Pasts? Questioning Heritage Education
Rotterdam, 6-7 June 2013
The research team of the NWO program Heritage Education is currently organizing a large international conference on heritage education with paper sessions, panels and workshops. Scholars will discuss theories about heritage, authenticity, and distance; educational professionals will reflect on the uses of heritage in museums, schools and digital environments. Several speakers have confirmed their contributions, such as Peter Seixas, Bruce VanSledright, Peter Aronsson, Brenda Trofanenko, Susan Legene, Sian Jones, Alan McCully, Tsafrir Goldberg, Terry Haydn, Geoffrey Cubitt and Chiel van den Akker. The conference will be held in De Doelen Rotterdam and is organized in cooperation with the Landelijk Kennisinstituut Cultuureducatie en Amateurkunst (LKCA).
