A peer coach is a fellow student with a functional impairment who can truly empathise with your situation. This student has found their way in student and academic life and is happy to help you gain more balance and clarity.
A peer coach can:
- Offer a listening ear and recognition
- Support you with study skills such as planning, time management, motivation, and effective studying
A peer coach does not provide subject-specific help or tutoring.
Are you unsure whether peer coaching fits your question or needs? If so, please contact the SMF team at smf@eur.nl.
How does requesting a peer coach work?
Are you a student with a functional impairment and could you use support from someone who understands your situation? Here’s how it works:
- Schedule an intake meeting with a staff member from the SMF team using the appointment button below.
The purpose of this meeting is to gain a clear picture of the support you need and to discuss the available options.
- We will look for a suitable peer coach and check whether they are available. At this stage, we do not share any personal information.
- Match and introduction:
Once we have found a match, we will share your name and phone number with the peer coach.
They will contact you to introduce themselves and make arrangements about how you will work together (e.g., how often, where, and for how long).
- Evaluation after two months:
You and your peer coach will receive an evaluation form to share how things are going and whether you would like to continue or make adjustments. If needed, the SMF team will follow up with you.
Do you have questions or comments in the meantime?
Feel free to contact the SMF team at smf@eur.nl.
