The Rotterdamsch Leeskabinet was founded as an association on the 17th of March 1859. The objective of the association is to preserve the collection of the Rotterdamsch Leeskabinet and organise activities in the field of culture and science.
The association is responsible for managing and expanding a high-quality book collection which is part of Rotterdam's cultural heritage. In addition, the association organises lectures and excursions on literature, history and society.
For over 150 years, the Rotterdamsch Leeskabinet Association has played an important role in the dissemination of knowledge from the fields of culture and science.
